'Without The Pink Kit preparation, we would have had another c/s for
sure. We had based our first birth on trusting the process and I felt
like a failure. Once I understood my body, I realized about my
inability to really relax inside. We did fine this time thanks to The
Pink Kit. Every couple planning a vbac MUST do the work.

'Our son was delivered by caesarean at 29 weeks because I developed
sudden onset of pre-eclampsia. I was rushed up to the base hospital
hours away and sectioned that day. Our son stayed in hospital for
months. When I fell pregnant 2 1/2 years later, I was determined to
have a home birth. My husband could hardly look at me. I thought he
wasn't interested. Then I realised he was terrified. I got The Pink Kit
and had to beg him to work through it with me. He started very
reluctantly but definitely got more interested then fascinated. He
actually told me that he thought The Pink Kit was written for men. We
both realised that our last birth was really a health issue and I
wasn't developing toxemia or any other problems with this pregnancy. He
actually really liked doing the internal work. I realised that he
hadn't had the time to be involved with the birth of our son. I was
flown up to the base hospital by helicopter without him. He was left by
himself. Poor dear. Once I focused on him, I realised that he had been
more traumatised than I. I had stayed with our son and he had to stay
home to work and then drive hours to the hospital every weekend.
Anyway, I went into labour and we had our baby at home. All through it
I kept thinking: 'Why did I want a vaginal birth...IT HURT!' But my
husband was absolutely wonderful, knowing how to help me whenever I
needed him. But IT HURT!. He caught our daughter and was over the moon.
But IT HURT. I DID IT without tearing....BUT IT HURT! We had a good
laugh the next day. He had a blast. All I remembered was IT HURT BUT I
DID IT. WE DID IT!

Different than I imagined
'Planning a vbac in my community was difficult. Doctors were hesitant
to support our decision. I dont think my husband really supported my
feelings. He was afraid for me and our child. The reason I had a
previous cesearean was deep posterior arrest and the doctor had told my
husband both me and our son would have died. We had attempted a home
birth. Fortunately, we were given The Pink Kit before I even fell
pregnant. We had gone through the kit and had learned so much. My
pelvis was narrow side to side and every position that I had been
encouraged to get into at my previous birth had made that dimension
smaller. Once pregnant we got stuck into it. We never resolved our
issues with our doctor, but we were determined. Great birth! Our
daughter weighed 2 1/2 pounds more than our son. Our doctor was
impressed.
