'All my friends were getting pregnant, so why not I figured. A teacher gave me The Pink Kit and told me to grow up. Boy was I pissed at her but I watched the video. At first it was SO boring, but I actually learned something, so I went through it more slowly. I'm really glad I did. I did grow up. I had a great birth and I felt really good about myself. My folks helped out with my son and I went back to school and have just graduated with really good marks. I'm heading on to nursing school next year. I hope to become a midwife. ‘My mother had me when she was fifteen. By the time I was 17, she was just starting university. She had gotten her GED while I grew up. I really respect my mother. She worked hard to raise me as a solo mom. I was in daycare while she worked but she was always a great mom. She would never have wished that life on me but I didn't see anything wrong with it. When I became an adult, she was wasn't even middle aged. I got pregnant when I was 19, but I didn't really feel like a teen mother. I had a good job and could take a year's leave. I had saved money wisely for several years and had enough money to take time with my baby. The one thing that was different for my mom and me was The Pink Kit. 'Everyone was looking down on us for having a baby. They made me feel the lowest of the low. But that didn't really bother us. My sister had used The Pink Kit and I had talked to her heaps about giving birth. She and my brother-in-law had had a great birth. So my girl and I set to.
