'I went past my due date, yet after a' non stress" test, then a stress test and then biophysical profile, my baby seemed well. I went into labour the night after the last test. My labour slowly progressed for 10 hours. My doctor felt that the labour should be augmented. Within 20 minutes, my babys heart rate disappeared off the tracing. They called the anesthesiologist but he had to travel to the hospital. By the time he arrived, we knew our baby had died, so we decided to continue with a vaginal delivery. The doctors explained that our baby probably died from a third degree heart block which was a rare reaction to the medicine given me to hasten labour. Fortunately, we had used The Pink Kit and the birth of our precious child was not as traumatic as it could have been, considering our devastation'.

'We had used The Pink Kit to prepare for our first birth. I was glad I did, but cant say I applied the skills very well because I believed there was nothing I could do to control what my birth would be like. In labour, I realised that I hadn't really learned how to manage my labour and did find it a bit of a struggle. When I got pregnant two years later, I seriously refreshed my skills and felt pretty confident. Like my first labour, this one started slowly. This time I knew not to take the contractions as seriously. Our midwife visited, checked me, left and told me to call when there was a change. A few hours later there really wasnt too much of a change, but we decided my husband would take our daughter to the baby sitter. He left, I got tired and lay down on the lounge. I sort of felt that I had to move my bowels, but was too tired, but the urge was so great I got up and went to the toilet. I sat down and PUSHED! I stood up and PUSHED again and out came my babys head, then the rest of him. My husband arrived, passed the window of the toilet and wondered why the cat was sounding more like a baby all the time. Surprise!'
